This recall involves Mamisan Pain Relieving Topical Ointment sold in 3.52 ounce plastic jars. The jars are orange with a white continuous thread lid, printed with the Mamisan trademark. Only jars with UPC code 860006498115 are included in the recall.
The Hazard
The ointment contains lidocaine, which must be in child-resistant packaging per the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. The lack of child-resistant packaging increases the risk of serious injury or death from poisoning if ingested by young children.
What to Do
Stop using the product immediately. Secure the ointment out of children's reach and contact Plantimex for a free replacement lid. Once secured with the new lid, the product can be used as directed.
