RecallRadar is an independent Runestone Labs project for making fragmented product recall records easier to compare with real-world catalogs.
Why it exists
US recall notices are published by multiple agencies with different schemas, identifiers, terminology, and update patterns. Retail and resale catalogs are just as inconsistent. RecallRadar was built to normalize the source material and make potential overlaps reviewable.

How matches are handled
Exact identifiers such as UPCs and model numbers are strongest. Brand and title similarity can surface useful candidates, but those results need human review. Findings retain official source links and relevant affected-product text so a reviewer can verify scope.
Current project scope
The high-cost consumer archive and automated alert system are paused. RecallRadar is currently testing a smaller catalog-screening and recall-research service. The historical dataset remains available as a snapshot.
