Manual screening pilot

Catalog recall screening for ecommerce and resale teams

Start with a manual pilot for up to 100 products. We agree which official sources and date ranges to check, then document identifier matches and name-similarity candidates with evidence for review.

Inputs

Use the catalog data you already have

A screen can start from a simple CSV. Strong identifiers improve precision, but incomplete catalogs can still be triaged.

Exact identifiers

UPC, GTIN, model number, manufacturer part number, and lot or batch identifiers.

Descriptive fields

Brand, manufacturer, product title, variant, category, and supplier.

Internal context

Your SKU, listing URL, seller, status, inventory count, and owner for routing.

Match strategy

Evidence before confidence

In the manual pilot, exact UPC and model candidates are separated from brand-title similarities. A candidate is never presented as confirmed solely because two names look similar.

  • Normalize punctuation, spacing, and model formats
  • Prioritize exact UPC and model intersections
  • Compare brand and title variants when IDs are absent
  • Carry affected lots, dates, hazards, and remedies into review
  • Link every finding to the official agency notice

Typical output

One row per review candidate

Catalog SKU · match type · matched fields · agency · recall date · affected product · hazard · remedy · confidence · disposition · official URL.

Proposed output fields are adapted to the agreed pilot scope, with source coverage, date checked, and limitations included. File format and delivery timing are confirmed before the pilot begins.

Use cases

Where a recall screen fits

Listing intake

Screen new seller or supplier files before products are approved for sale.

Periodic catalog audit

Review active inventory on a defined cadence and document the disposition of candidates.

Resale intake

Surface products that require a safety review before secondhand listing or fulfillment.

Important limitations

Recall matching is not legal advice

Agency records and product catalogs vary in completeness. Fuzzy matches can produce false positives; missing identifiers can produce false negatives. RecallRadar provides screening and research support, not a guarantee of compliance or a substitute for counsel, manufacturer confirmation, or review of the official notice.

For safety-critical decisions, verify the specific product, model, lot, manufacture date, and remedy directly with the issuing agency or manufacturer.
