About This Product

Vive Health Bed Rails are designed to assist adults in getting in and out of bed safely. They provide support for individuals who may be at risk of falling during the night or those who require help when transitioning in and out of bed.

Why This Is Dangerous

The bed rails can create a gap between the rail and the mattress, allowing users to become entrapped. This situation can lead to severe injury or death due to asphyxiation if a user becomes stuck.

Industry Context

This recall is not part of a broader industry pattern.

Real-World Impact

Consumers must stop using the recalled bed rails immediately to avoid serious injury. The urgency of this recall highlights the need for proper safety standards in medical equipment.

Practical Guidance

How to identify if yours is affected

  1. Check the model number of your bed rail.
  2. Verify the purchase date; it must be after August 21, 2023.
  3. Look for the white frame with a black handle (LVA1024) or black frame with a black handle (LVA3031BLK).

Where to find product info

The model number can usually be found on a label attached to the bed rail frame, often near the bottom or on the side.

What timeline to expect

Expect a refund processing timeline of 4-6 weeks once the returned product is received.

If the manufacturer is unresponsive

  • Follow up with Vive Health via phone or email.
  • Document your attempts to contact them, including dates and times.

How to prevent similar issues

  • When purchasing bed rails, ensure they comply with CPSC safety standards.
